Under the Network Environments for Aboriginal Health Research (NEAHR) grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research - Institute of Aboriginal Health (CIHR-IAPH), IPHRC was able to fund over 50 community-based research projects throughout Saskatchewan from 2003 - 2012.
These projects built linkages between university researchers and Indigenous communities to produce meaningful Indigenous health research with positive community impacts. Researchers and community partners applied directly to IPHRC for seed grants to support their projects with the goal of securing additional funding from other sources.
After the NEAHR program was sunsetted in 2013, IPHRC's team of researchers began to focus on pursuing project-based funding for Indigenous health research.
