CBHR Summer Institute
The Indigenous Peoples' Health Research Centre (IPHRC), the Saskatchewan Population Health Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU) and the Prairie HIV Community-Based Research Program are excited to host the 2011 Community-Based Health Research (CBHR) Summer Institute: Weaving the Tapestry from June 20-24, 2011 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The institute will be open to practitioners, academics, policymakers, community practitioners and graduate students.
Objectives:
The objective of the CBHR Summer Institute is to provide knowledge and applied training in community-based research using a population health approach. The institute will cover topics ranging from developing partnerships to research methods, and information management. Expert presentations, hands-on workshops, keynote speakers, cases studies, and group discussions with leading practitioners will provide an informative setting for expanding skills in community-based research.
- Disseminate knowledge and applied training in community-based research using a population health approach
- Provide a forum for networking and collaborating among researchers, community practitioners, educators, and other stakeholders looking to expand their skills in community-based research
Formal Accreditation:
Graduate students in western Canada may be eligible for academic credit under the Western Deans Agreement for their participation in the CBHR Summer Institute.
The CBHR Summer Institute will be open to approximately 60 participants from across Canada and participants will be accepted on a first come, first registered basis.
